The Sales Development & Inside Sales resume: every KPI, formula, and pattern
The 7 numbers that carry this resume
Every sales development & inside sales bullet gets stronger with one of these. The benchmark tells you what's worth claiming; the question helps you dig your real number out.
What percent of quota did you hit, over how many consecutive quarters?
How much qualified pipeline did you source, and how much of it closed?
How many qualified meetings a month, against what target or team average?
What converted unusually well for you — reply rate, connect-to-meeting, show rate? Versus what baseline?
What revenue did your pipeline turn into? Sourced or closed — label it honestly.
How fast did you reach full quota after joining — versus the standard ramp?
Where did you rank on the team or floor, out of how many reps?
Bullet formulas
Structure first, wording second. Fill the brackets with your own numbers.
Strong verb + activity or deal motion + segment/ICP + % against target (with the timeframe).Weak: "Responsible for generating leads through cold calling." Strong: "Sourced 22 qualified meetings/month (146% of target) via cold calls + personalized sequences into mid-market fintech, feeding ₹4.2Cr in pipeline."Percent-of-target beats raw numbers: "118% of quota, 5 consecutive quarters" travels across companies; "84 meetings" doesn't.
Verbs that read like ownership
Weak phrase → stronger pattern
Lead generation is the seat; meetings-against-target is the scoreboard.
Activity without conversion reads as dialing, not selling.
"Achieved targets" hides the number that IS the resume. Percent + streak or don't say it.
CRM hygiene matters to managers — but only expressed as coverage and forecast trust.
Relationships are invisible; opened accounts and opportunities are countable.
Follow-up is expected; the system and its conversion rate are the differentiators.
Keywords screens look for
Use the ones that are true for you — keyword stuffing reads as noise to a human on the other side. The studio tracks your coverage live.
Before you send it
- Quota attainment as a percent with a streak ("118%, 5 straight quarters") in the top bullet
- Pipeline labeled honestly: sourced vs influenced vs closed — inflation is the fastest rejection
- Rank on the floor ("#2 of 18") wherever exact revenue is confidential
- The stack named: CRM + engagement tool + enrichment (managers screen for tool fluency)
- President's Club, SDR-of-the-quarter, or ramp awards by their real names and dates
- One line on segment and motion: inbound vs outbound, SMB vs enterprise, ACV band
- A closing-motion signal if you want the AE track: discovery you ran solo, deals you co-closed
